About the teacher:
I have dedicated
more than 25 years of my playing life to the teaching of drums to pass on what was given to me. I have taught hundreds
of students and thoroughly enjoy being a drumset educator. I am currently in a new 7pc R&B group appearing this
Spring!
My teaching is structured, informative and best of all...fun to learn. I love playing them,
teaching them and talking about them. Our discussions in one-to-one class are everything about drumming, music, and becoming
the true person you were meant to be. If you hear drums and are thinking of playing...or you play currently and want to get
a lot better, let me know. I have spent a lifetime playing and would like to show what I have learned as a drummer
in New York playing all styles including my area of specialty... rock, punk and groove. I owe a world of gratitude
to my mentors Allen Herman and Jackie Browne, students
of the great Joe Morello and Jim Chapin. My teachers also include Armand Santarelli, Joel Rothman, Patty
DeVoe and Al Duffy.
I
have guided beginners to players from
the starting gig, to the touring band to the "Gold Record" and my teaching studios have been featured in Modern
Drummer, Time Out Kids, Tom Tom On-line, Drummergirl, Go Mag. I was founder/drum instructor for Female Drummers Workshop in
Brooklyn for twenty years and Director/Drum Instructor for First Flight Music School in Manhattan. Find a category below
that might help describe you and call or shoot me an email about your drumming. You can always come over for "Open
Studio" to check it out.
